Drums

Conodrums

The study of drum kit involves many factors.

  • Physical technique, including proper stick grip and sitting position, is important from the first lesson.
  • Rudimentary rhythmic elements build flow, dexterity and understanding, combining over time to create complexity.
  • Students explore how the drums are unique in their dependency upon other instruments.

However, solo studies are also encouraged to provide independent performance opportunities.

Students are taught ergonomics and ear protection, and they may use a variety of acoustic or electronic drum kits.

Students gain confidence, enjoying constant feedback, talking about styles and trends, choosing their preferred material and having jam sessions!
